June 03 2015
June 03 2015

Fathers Day

Since we wrote about some DIY gift ideas you could surprise mom with for Mother's Day, it's only fair to write about some exciting things to do with the man of the household on his big day. If you're in the Bay Area this Father's Day, which is on June 21st (Sunday) this year, there's a bunch of activities you and dad can partake in. Let's be honest - celebrating Father's Day with dinner at a restaurant has become somewhat overrated. Sure it's a great fallback option, but why not step out of your comfort zone and try something a little more adventurous? If you start tuning into your father's interests and not your own, you'll be sure to hit a home run with whatever you decide to do. As your Sunnyvale/Bay Area real estate experts, we want you to be informed of all the events going on around the area so that you'll know what your options are for his special day. So here are the seven top Father's Day events that are happening in the Bay Area in 2015.

1. 2 Hour Champagne & Mimosa Morning Cruise

Champagne & Mimosa Morning Cruise

When: June 7 (Sun), June 14 (Sun) or June 20 (Sat) @10:00am
Where: Pier 39, Dock C at Fisherman's Wharf (The Embarcadero at Beach Street San Francisco, CA 94133)
Cost: $36

Description: If you're looking for a relaxing weekend with pops, then San Francisco Sailing Company has got you covered. Climb aboard a sailboat for a two-hour cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge. Along the way, enjoy two complimentary drinks, such as champagne, mimosas, beer, white wine or soda. You'll depart from Pier 39 at 10:00am, when sailing is the smoothest and warmest. Along the way to Golden Gate Bridge, you'll cruise past Fisherman's Wharf, Aquatic Park, Fort Mason, the Marina District, Crissy Field and Fort Point. You'll be right under the Golden Gate Bridge for the 11:00am champagne toast. The return journey through the central bay and around Alcatraz Island will offer magnificent views of the city front, Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, Angel Island, Alcatraz, Oakland and the Bay Bridge.

2. NBA Finals: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors

When: June 19 (Friday) @ 6:00pm
Where: Oracle Arena (7000 Coliseum Way, Oakland, US, 94621)
Cost: $700 - $1,500

Description: If you're dad is a basketball fan, better yet a Warriors fan, then there's no doubt that a pair of tickets to this game would make the perfect gift for him. The Golden State Warriors' defeat of the Houston Rockets on Wednesday catapulted the California team to the NBA finals for the first time in 40 years, which makes this game against the Cavaliers even more exciting. If the Warriors win four out of seven games against the Cavaliers, they will be the NBA champions for this year. The last time they won the championship title was back in 1975! Imagine how excited your dad would be to sit in that stadium as the Warrior's make that finishing basket. Although it may be a pretty pricey gift, it'll be well worth the money if the Warriors are able to take home the win. Keep in mind that this is a contingent game, so it'd be good to have a back-up option if things don't go as planned.

3. Blackhawk Museum - Father's Day Car Show 2015

Blackhawk Museum

When: June 21 (Sunday) @ 8:00am - 2:00pm
Where: Blackhawk Automotive Museum (3700 Blackhawk Plaza Cir, Danville, CA 94506)
Cost: $24.95 - $64.95

Description: Whether your dad is a car fanatic or not, there's plenty of activities for you and your dad to partake in at the Blackhawk Museum Car Show. Scott's Seafood Grill & Bar of Walnut Creek is bringing a special Champagne Brunch to the museum for an exclusive Father's Day event. Reservation includes free admission to the museum and brunch. This event will be held inside the Museum's Automotive Dining Gallery and requires a separate reservation, 925-648-1434. Brunch is $64.95 for adults and $24.95 for children 12 and under. There will also be a variety of family oriented activities in the Museum such as live music, raffle ticket drawings and food/beverages available for purchase. If you're not planning on doing the brunch package, museum tickets are $15 for adults. However, father's will have FREE admission! Spend some quality time with pops on Father's Day by admiring a collection of classic cars at the Blackhawk Automotive Museum.

4. Napa Valley Wine Train

When: June 21 (Sunday) @ 5:30pm
Where: Napa Valley Wine Train (1275 McKinstry St, Napa, CA 94559)
Cost: $149 - $274

Description: Why not turn a boring Father's Day dinner into something more adventurous? This Father's Day, the Wine Train is making the occasion even more special for dad. Enjoy a three hour journey on the wine train where you'll receive a multiple course gourmet meal (with a BBQ flare) along with a welcome taste of wine or welcome beer. Each father on board will receive a commemorative pint glass as well. For the more sophisticated father's out there who are looking to enjoy a relaxing day with food and drinks, this is what an ideal Father's Day would consist of.

5. 14th Annual Father's Day Camp Out

14th Annual Father's Day Camp Out

When: June 20 (Saturday) @ 3:00pm to June 21 (Sunday) @ 11:00am
Where: Hayward Shoreline at Winton (3050 W. Winton Ave, Hayward, CA, 94545)
Cost: $85/adult and child pair, $25 per additional adult, $10 per additional child

Description: What dad wouldn't enjoy some quality time with his family in the great outdoors? Nothing bonds a family more than being secluded in a forest and away from all that technology we seem to be glued to these days. Don't worry if you're not really a wilderness type of person because all the food and entertainment will be provided by the naturalist staff, which leaves more quality time for you and dad. All you need to bring are your sleeping bags, tents and a positive attitude! Go tide pooling, find bugs, take hikes, build sandcastles, play games, roast marshmallows and learn about the animals and plants that make up the shoreline habitat. It might get kind of windy, so prepare accordingly beforehand.

6. Playland Father's Day Weekend

When: June 20 (Saturday) to June 21 (Sunday) @ 10:00am - 5:00pm
Where: Playland-Not-At-The-Beach (10979 San Pablo Ave, El Cerrito, CA, 94530)
Cost: $15 for adults, $10 children & seniors (Dad's get $2 off admission)

Description: Bring out the inner kid in dad by planning a fun day at the carnival for him. Get Dad to Playland-Not-at-the-Beach for his special day where he gets $2 off of admission all weekend to play pinball, skee-ball, arcade and carnival games. The worst Father’s Day tie wins a prize, so it's the perfect opportunity for him to wear that dreaded Christmas tie he got last year. Although there's no rides at this time, there's a bunch of attractions that range from the Haunted Mannor Party Room to the Circus Parade that'll be sure to keep him entertained. There's nothing like bringing out dad's competitive side on Father's Day through some good old fashioned arcade games. It's OK to let him win this time since it's his big day ;)

7. MLB: San Francisco Giants vs. Seattle Marines

When: June 16 (Tuesday) @ 12:45pm
Where: AT&T Park (24 Willie Mays Plaza, San Francisco, CA 94107)
Cost: $36.25 - $140.75

Description: Whether it's basketball, baseball, football or even golf, every dad has a sport he's particulary fond of. Take dad out to the ball game where he can watch his favorite Bay Area team take on the Seattle Mariners. This game is much more affordable than the Warriors game, but ticket prices can get quite high depending on your seat selection. The Giants are currently on a 30 - 24 winning streak, so they need all the support they can get from their Bay Area fans during mid-season. If you've lived in the Bay Area your whole life, professional sports games are probably a common event you and your father attend. However, you can make this an extra special day for him by getting him better seats and maybe even a shout out for Father's Day. Tune in to his interests, and you'll be sure to hit a home run.

A scholarly group considers exposition as what strict creators think about a work of art. In any case, it is over now since you have a plausibility to purchase an article and make the most of your life. bungalow Desirade

After looking at the couple of the blog articles on your online journal, I genuinely welcome your method for writing an article. I spared Ryan Gosling 2049 Jacket as a most loved it to my bookmark website page list and will checking back rather than later. Share your thoughts

As a greeting card creator, I actually have visible pretty some. The best ones can range depending on your relationship. I endorse you leaf through a group of quotes for Father's Day, consisting of this one: Father’s Day Messages, and see if some thing there conjures up you. Of course, You may also use one of those messages, but, in my opinion, the most significant wishes will come from the coronary heart. Best Assignment Writing
